xPeke - Return of the king

The legacy of xPeke

Some get famous on the eSports scene because they are unbeatable players. Some get famous because they have a crazy personality. When xPeke became big, he was unique. Not completely alone, but there were not that many that would be in the same cathegory.

He was a leader ingame. He called the shots. He ruled midlane. And when using Youtube, you can find some hilarious videos. This guy was one of the founders of the huge scene that we see today im League of Legends basically. He played Season 1 and won it!

Below there is a video with some random clips of xPeke from his early days when he played with Fnatic.

And one of the cool moves that he was famous for was the backdoor finishes. One amazing backdoor is in the video below. In a big game and you can tell from the players reactions that this is some amazing shit right there!

And when it comes to other characters similar to him back in those days. In the video below you can see Ocelote as one of the opponents. He was another one of these players that also entertained the audience. But this post is about xPeke.

xPeke did what a lot of other players should have done. He decided to create something that would keep him busy for (hopefully) as long as he wants to, maybe the rest of his life.
He left Fnatic and started a team of his own together with his former teammate soAz, Origen
But that is not the smart move, the smart move was when he retired from playing himself and went into the world of business. When at the top of the career. He made sure that he would not just fade away from the scene. He did the smart thing and made sure that he would have a career that would last longer than the 5-10 years that most gaming careers last.

And he had proved in interviews that he really had the people skills to manage his own team. There are a number of hilarious interviews with xPeke.

A few people have done similar things before. In the North American LCS teams like CLG and TSM had HotShot_GG and Reginald doing the same thing.
They started out as players and made themselves huge names within the eSports scene and then went into the world of business. They even tried to do both at first but realized quickly that it was not possible to perform at the top top level and at the same time book the flights for the team etc.

Now, today actually xPeke is returning! He is back! When one of the players of Origen became sick and there was a weekend of LCS coming up. xPeke decided to step up and sign himself up as the midlaner for the event.

Five Nights at Freddy's

First Impression of the game

The kids teddybears will freak me the fuck out from now on...

This huge monster sitting at random places in my house, staring at me..

So the game scared me?
Yes.

Does it mean it is a good game?
It succeeded in what it tried to do I suppose. I think it is a brilliant game!

At first though. I was wondering what the hell I had bought. I started the game and was expecting a menu for a lot of different settings. Not much of that.
So I started the game, expecting to enter the options menu by pressing "escape".

The game shut down! Now I really wondered what the hell this was.. But like I said above. I think it is a brilliant game and I can see why there are no pause button needed. Every session is at maximum 15 minutes long which means you will never have to replay more than 15 minutes in case you have to shut down in the middle of the game.

So the game is basically about surviving the nights as the security guard at a place called "Freddy's". At night these cute maskots becomes living creatures and in their mind, I am breaking the rules. So you basically has to stay away from them, not to get stuffed into one of those costumes. Or if they mistake me for a costume and tries to shove a metal skeleton up my ass.

This game is brilliant. You are based in one room and one room only. You can look through 10 (or something like that) security cameras to check where they are. You only use the mouse and use it for a few things, check cameras, close/open doors and the light switch.

So in means of creating the game, it can be done without having to create these massive worlds of graphical content. So that makes it easier.

However..

By limit yourself to this small enviroment, you will have to do a brilliant work with the atmosphere. Since the player won't wander through the enviroment thinking that the next country will be better made.
This tiny enviroment is it, you won't get to see anything else. And in Five nights at Freddy's, the atmosphere is f-ing brilliant.

The shitty security cameras makes you focus on the screen in order to see anything. So when the jumpscare comes, you are so into the f-ing game that... Well. I did some shouthing and waving with my arms and stuff. There is a super short video on my first real scare but I am working on creating some more content in this post.

Watch some videos on the game if you feel like it is something that might intrest you. If you own a cat, make sure that little furry thing stays away from you while you play. All of a sudden my cat tried to re-decorate my home, wrecked a pile of wooden boxes etc right behind me.
At first I thought it was Freddy that had come for me IRL.

I am recommending it for sure. Bloody brilliant I'd say.

Joe Diesel Riggs

Man, I remember Joe "Diesel" Riggs

I was at the gas station earlier tonight and all of a sudden I came to think about this guy, Joe "Diesel" Riggs! Back at UFC 56 for example, when he fought Matt Hughes. Joe was this really cool character coming up, with a cool nickname and a big ass tattoo with "DIESEL".

Below I found a highlight video on Youtube.

I guess it is even easier to remember him due to some controversy that was around a fight with Nick Diaz where there even were some fighting done at the hostpital after the fight was done. An article about it can be found HERE.

I have not followed the UFC for a few years now like I used to back in -06. But now I can see that the Diesel is back in the UFC. His Twitter page states that he is on his way back to the top. And I can't see why not, he was really young back in -06 and now he has a lot more experience.

Froggen is unreal!

Did that really happen - and TWICE?!

This is the most ridiculous thing I have seen in a long time. Look how these games end. I mean, during the podcast when I mentioned watching the Allstars - I had not seen this. I still said that Froggen was the fun player to watch.

And he delievered again! The most entertaining 1v1 player by far.

Watch all of his matches during this 1v1 tournament. I will add the two latest videos below for you to watch. Like, whaaat?! Is it even possible?

See what I am talking about? Insane. Ban snowballs when Froggen is nearby! xD

Motivational video I have enjoyed over the years

Great video with Jay Cutler

I have gotten to love the music and find myself motivated by just listening to it since I have watched this video sooo many times over the years.

The king Jay Cutler!

Romans pick from Allstars

My favorite moments

There will always be some really great, fun or just troll moments during events like these. I have chosen a few of my favorite ones...

Starting out. Froggen goes AP Nasus in a 1v1.

Blitzcrank is crazy. A game with 10 Blitzcrank is just a mess. Put 10 of the best players in the world in there, and shit is going to be hilarious.

If you can't choose your champions? In this game the team are given champions and then they will have to decide where to play them. All ranged vs all melee!

Froggen is Anivia personified. Will Faker be able to out Anivia the Anivia 1on1? Check this out, he is going for it!

New Gameplay from The Forest

Gameplay from The Forest

I found the Katana for the first time! Yippie ka yay! Some deaths during the video as well. Before finding the ninja weapon there were hard times.

Some sick shit found in the caves as well during this video. And as usual, some trashtalking between Sweden and Norway.

Enjoy!

New Fallout 4 S.P.E.C.I.A.L video - Agility

New Fallout 4 S.P.E.C.I.A.L Video

So these videos have been hilarious so far. And here is the one showing us what agility means. A really clever way of giving their fans a little something while waiting for the release. It also makes sure to remind us that the game is coming soon.

Fallout 4 - S.P.E.C.I.A.L movies

Fun movie clips regarding the attributes in Fallout 4

The different attributes that you are choosing from in Fallout 4 are Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility and Luck.

To market their new game they have been releasing a video on each of these attributes. They have made the movies comedic explanations on what the different attributes mean and how they effect your character. The videos can be found below this text.

Strength

Perception

Endurance

Charisma

Intelligence

Agility and Luck is yet to be released.

I haven't been playing the series much at all. Although I got Fallout New Vegas for my Play Station 3 and I played that quite a lot. So I really enjoy the world that they have created.

New H1Z1 map is being created!

Finally new map in progress!

When playing BR in H1Z1 nowadays you'd figure that many of the players know exactly every small detail of the current map. However I just saw that there is a video on Youtube where you get to see one of the employees creating a new map!

Looking forward to playing another map!

When I watched people preparing for the Twitch Invitational they were like having specific locations they always looted since they knew there would be good stuff there etc.
Fine if a few people have spent a lot of time learning stuff like that. But when a lot of players have learned the map too well it will be a very different gameplay than I would prefer. If I would get to dream, I would want a tool that creates a random map each time. But I understand that if it was totally random it would be a very high chance of bugs and shit.

So since that is not a viable option, I am hyped about this new map. Let's hope that it will come into play soon!

Zero Punctuation Army of TWO

Zero Punctuation Army of TWO

Wrote about Army of TWO before. Here is a fun video regarding it from Zero Punctuation. A series of videos on Youtube that I really enjoy. Just check out a game that you played a lot and you will enjoy his video about it.

Many of these videos are simply brilliant. He manages to capture some stuff in the game and make fun comments about it. And the DayZ one made me laugh so hard every time I watched it. If you have played the games you will understand the humor, otherwise I don't think you will think it is as funny.

Project Cars as E-sport

Slightly Mad Studios Project Cars

is apparently working together with ESL.

Racing as e-sport sounds like a good concept. It is full of action and speed. Cool looking cars and the market for sponsored appearence on the cars themselves has potential.

This is a video that is talking about the good things about Project Cars. Makes me wonder if my computer can run it or not. Better check out the video regarding the bad stuff as well.

So this is supposed to be the bad stuff about the game. Seems like the bugs are on the consols and not on the PC version? Good for me. If the game was made for PC and then converted to consols I hope that the bugs don't appear on the PC version as well.
Sorry consol players, that was just my point of view. Lets hope they fixed those things since they made that video.
And if they are doing this on e-sport I will just assume that there are no bugs remaining.

Is this the real deal? I hope so!
I will definitely keep my eyes open for these first e-sport events. I really love racing games where the damage inflicted on your car really matters. I want to see people lose some wheels and go on their rims back to the pit stop!

Here is a link to their official website regarding this

My kind of reviews...!

Fun reviews!

I don´t remember when, probably a few years ago, I found the perfect comedy mixed with reviews of video games.
Zero Punctuation is a series of reviews that really use humor to explain his gaming experience. He is using a really simple video made with some program that reminds you of paint. The video is a perfect compliment to his stories. Some videos are epic. If you have ever played DayZ you will understand his story about trying the game.
Another one I enjoy is Fallout New Vegas. I think you will have to have played the games to enjoy the videos though. Since he makes fun of stuff that you encounter in the games.

You will find the videos on Youtube. There will be a lot of bad language though, you have been warned!
