Zlatan returned

Zlatan returned with style

Zlatan returned to Malmö tonight. The club where it all started. Back then the club was not even playing in the first division in Sweden. And now, he gets to come back to face Malmö in Champions League.

That is quite the story!

He has been and still is the source of inspiration and hope to a lot of young players in not only Malmö, but in Sweden

To make sure that people got to enjoy the game he helped with the finances for a big show with big screens on the town square in Malmö.
Thousands of fans gathered there, despite the cold weather here in Sweden. It was not many days ago there was a snow chaos I believe in those parts of Sweden. But people wanted to join up and watch the game.

What about the game itself? Malmö started out with a really young centre back who deserved a chance to play against players like Di Maria, Ibrahimovic and Cavani according to the manager. I am not arguing with that.
It is not certain that the result would have been any different with an older and more experienced centre back. The left back in Malmö were also a young player who even played in Champions League in the previous season and made quite the impression. A bright future? Only time will tell.

Keep an eye on Pa Konate!

Paris is certainly on another level than Malmö. The amount of money the squads are worth are not even in the same universe. That showed. Paris got ahead early. 1-0 in three minutes and after that it continued in a similar fashion.

Zlatan himself put the ball in the net in the second half, making the score 3-0.

The game ended 5-0 and Zlatan got substituted in the 85th minute to recieve the cheers from the crowd. The king had returned!

He did not take every opportunity to shoot. He was passing the ball a lot giving his teammates opportunities to score.
Unwilling to score too many goals against Malmö or wanting to show his growth as a player? Maybe that was just the way he would have played any other game. No matter the reasons, he had a good game.
