The Internet have proof of everything being true

Everything is proved according to the Internet

This particular diet has helped thousands!

Lose 15kg in 1 month!

Gain 5kg lean muscle mass in 1 month!

On the Internet there are a lot of adds with big promises. When following the link there are convincing arguments supporting the theory. There could be a lot of statistics and research results.

This is where you need to think it through.

Does this make any sense?

Because in the world of research, you can twist anything into showing whatever you want it to show. All you have to do is choose the participants according to what you wish to achieve or you could simply skip to tell all the details surrounding the experiment.

Let's say they are selling this fantastic machine that is for abdominal training. If they have pictures of super fit people saying that they have used it.
Yeah right! I thiiiink they have been working their asses off doing other work outs and kept their diet under strict control. Since they do not simply use a normal fit person. They often use super muscular men or super fit women for these commercials.

Another thing you might come across is..
Some even sell some machine and they send you a dieting schedule. They guarentee weight loss or you will get your money back.
The thing is though. That diet alone will guarentee that you will lose weight since there are such a low amount of calories in the diet. The machine does not matter at all.

When you read something on the Internet. What kind of source is it? Is there information saying this is bullshit? You might even want to contact some kind of medical advisor in some cases. Since a lot of crazy shit is spread on the Internet. Like diets that might actually harm you if you keep doing it for long periods of time without any thought of what the consequences might be.

So be careful out there. Take good care of your bodies! Don't let anyone fool you into buying expensive shit that is useless. Sure they might have studies showing their product is great, but a lot of studies are founded by companies that want specific results and then of course the result will show that their product is great.

Some things to consider, it does not have to be hard to change bad habits.

1. You don't have to work out to lose weight. You can do that just by controlling your diet.
2. You don't have to replace your entire lifestyle. Just start out small. Do you eat snacks every day? Skip a day or two at first. When you are used to that, go further and perhaps only eat it on weekends or something. We are all different people. Some of us will have a hard time just cutting out some habits straight away. That does not make you a bad person. Find out what your motivation is, then changing stuff will be easier.
3. If you don't know which information to trust on the Internet. I would recommend going to big websites that have a good reputation. Ask in their forum for help. Or of course, send me a PM and I will try to help out.

Holy ****! H1Z1 Invitational!

Wow! It was epic! H1Z1 Invitational

Oh my god! I was so hyped for this event! I have watched many League of Legends tournaments with "Deman" as the shoutcaster. When I saw him when this cast went live, I was even more excited. And they delivered! Wow. Fun comments mixed with insightful information about the tactics the players were using.

Here is a video with both games linked from Youtube.

The game is really fun and entertaining to play. To watch even, that is why all these people are being gathered to play a big game. To watch ESL and watch pro players is amazing, really fun. Here though, it is not the best players in the world. This is the battle of charisma! The popular streamers going at it! There are not just that cathegory of players in the game but many of the most popular streamers is in there.

Like, wow. I love the mix of seriousness and the part where it feels like they are just another fan watching a game. The commentators are like one of us, they laugh when the first person dies. Laughing hard I might add. And when someone do something completely random and stupid they comment on it with a joke. They seem so sincerely excited by what is happening. I love it!

If you are into this game and/or enjoy to watch some of the streamers in this game I'd recommend you to watch these two games. Fantastic stuff! I got super motivated to play after watching it.
Lets hope they do this more often. I mean, it is just a fucking alpha game so far. And the value of it as an eSport is hard to decide. But the level of entertainment this brings to the audience is priceless!
Money for prizes should be easy to find by sponsors wanting to be seen during these events. The question is whether it will become a game where people go pro or not.

Lets do this again DayBreak!

Arsenal on Football Manager 2015

Going Arsenal on FM15

Yes I do not like Arsenal as a team. But hey! If I feel like I have to bash a player after a performance, at least I won't feel bad about it!
Perhaps I am limited by that when I play with teams and players that I really like in real life. And sometimes it is nice to see everything from another point of view. Hell, when I lose to Man Utd I might not get as upset as I get when I lose with Man Utd against Arsenal!

What is the first thing I should do?
Replace all the medical staff! The injuries over the past few years is insane in Arsenal. Look at that poor Wilshere. Just now, he got injured again looking like he will miss another 3 months of the season. It does not matter if he plays for Arsenal. A player that talented deserves better than so many injuries. And is it just me, or does young english player suffer a lot of injuries?
RIght off the bat I am thinking about Sturridge as well. Oh, and Walcott. At some point I read or heard something regarding their speed. When they train their muscles to make them being able to run really fast, maybe they leave themselves vulnerable to injuries?

I am talking about players at a young age doing specific training to have a great speed. There are a lot of muscle injuries on them?

Some young players just seem to have bad luck. Look at Luke Shaw in Champions League the other week. I feel for him, really. That had nothing to do with what he did, just the ignorance of the opponent going in for a mad tackle.

In many ways I can appreciate the way Arsenal has acted on the transfer market during the past 10 years. A lot of the reason why I started to cheer for Man Utd was because they were playing a lot of young players from their own youth development.
Arsenal have not spent big sums of money for big names very often. They have been smart and buying cheap and then developing the players.
The biggest example is from 1998ish with Thierry Henry. What Wenger did then was a miracle. He saw the talent that was in Thierry. And it is not just Wengers doing. Henry is really clever and I have heard some of his old coaches over the years talking about how intelligent that man is.

So with that in mind, I can somehow play with Arsenal despite the fact that I'd love to see them lose in real life since it would be good for Man Utd. And bloody hell! Danny Welbeck is at Arsenal now. I felt robbed when he left but if he wanted to try something else I am cheering for him, hoping that he will be successful.

TwitchCon H1Z1 Invitational

H1Z1 Invitational!

Looking forward to this one. The battle of the streamers! I have no clue about the way they intend to do this. Is it just one round?
Then it would be a lot of luck involved. Hopefully it is like 3 battles and they add the points given for placements.

10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
According to their website which means I guess it is american time. It does not matter, I got work to take care of. Will have to watch the replays anyways.

Will summit1g win?

Don't really care at all who wins. I just hope for a lot of entertainment!

Civilization V

Civilization V - Relaxing game

What do you do when you don't want to play a fast paced game? You have had a long day, or already played some intense League of Legends or something. Civilization V is a great game to end the evening.
There is a later version, the "Beyond Earth". I prefer this one however. In the newest one you go into space to explore new planets and face aliens etc. I really enjoy the old ones, where you go from the stone age inventing the wheel and stuff.

There are stuff that you can research and build that are actual historic stuff, like the Eiffel Tower. And it is a turn based game which means you can just enjoy it at any pace you want.

Here is one of the leaders you can either choose to play, or just try to defeat in a war. Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden.
If you consider Sweden to be a bit tame, don't worry. There are other, more savage leaders.

That stare! Would you dare to dismiss his request for a trade?

This game is never the same. You can change so much in the settings that you can play this game a lot before you get tired of it. And then after a while of not playing it, you will feel the urge to play again!

Frankenstein: Master of Death

Frankenstein: Master of Death purchased on sale

Another game I picked up on one of all these Steam sales. 97% off retail price! It is still on sale until 28th of September. Instead of paying 4.99 euros you can now pay 0.14 euros!

I just started the game and at the beginning you get to choose between easy and hard. Next to the "easy" icon there was a easy maze. And next to the "hard" icon it was a more complicated maze. Of course I went for the harder maze. I'd like to see if I can solve the riddles and puzzles.

So now I have completed a few puzzles. And I must say that I am impressed. I really found myself bound by the game.

Some things were obvious while some were a bit more tricky. A nice mix since the obvious riddles gives you a sense of "I can do this shit"-feeling, motivating you to complete the ones that are harder.
But honestly I haven't played for many minutes so far. I just wanted to update this text since I figured the game deserves some positive comments.

In the past I have purchased a few games that I find similar to this one. A Sherlock Holmes game and a Nancy Drew game for example. I haven't finished any of them, blaming the lack of time. This one I won't spend countless of hours playing straight away either but I will probably play it for shorter sessions when I just want to relax.
The point and click is a really relaxing way to finish your evening.
Perhaps you have played some intense games or you just need to relax after a day at work. This works for me. No stress, just sit back and relax while your brain tries to solve puzzles.
So with time, I will try to beat this game. I love the graphics. The style reminds me of the games I used to play back in the days.

So if you like games like this, from what I have seen so far, you will have a few hours of entertainment ahead of you.

Barcelona could be out of La Liga?

If Catalonia breaks free - Barca is out!

That seems to be the result IF Catalonia breaks free from Spain. That is a big IF though. The 27th of September there are regional elections in Catalonia. If a certain party wins they will try to break free from Spain.
So IF that happends 18 months later it could be a fact. No more el Clasicos. The spanish league president states that if Catalonia would break out, then they do not have a place for Barcelona.

Honestly though, could Spain afford to lose out on such a big name? What would happen to their league?
Real Madrid would be the new FC Bayern just buying everything else in the entire league and win the titles early in the season. And would a team like Real Madrid be able to buy the biggest players?

The new rules for people outside of EU is definitely helping the spanish clubs. Since the english clubs can't buy all players due to the work permit issues. So the brazilians, argentinians etc would still probably choose La Liga. The language  and the weather are probably big factors as well.
But the money is best in England, at least the average salary. The amount that Messi and Ronaldo makes is astronomical but the average player in La Liga makes less than in Premier League I'd guess.

Probably this will never happen. And I am hoping that it does not. But the people of Catalonia might actually go through with this. Every home game the crowd chants for independence at minute 17. They are referring to year 1714 where they last had autonomy.

Here are the links where I read about this. So if I misunderstood something, here are the sources I used.

Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition

Batman: Arkham Asylum

The game is from 2009, not even close being a new game. But wow! I can't complain about the graphics. I don't have the highest expectations, I will admit that. However I am often amazed by how smooth the game is and how good movements of the cape etc looks.

I have a limited time for gaming which means that I will progress slowly, but I inted to get through these three games (Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Origins). I want to enjoy the new Batman and be prepared with all of the backstory!
And the way this game has started. I will enjoy every minute of it. Even though I, like most people that hate losing can get angry with the game after a dumb mistake. And a few of them has already been made. God I hate it when I die and have to play a certain part again just because I made a stupid mistake
Sometimes I have killed every single opponent in super stealth mode and then I fuck something else up and have to do it again.

Another thing that I am really happy about is the story. They have captured the mood of Joker really well and the conversations going on is entertaining.

However I wonder what diet the Joker has had, he is quite skinny. It is a classic fight against Joker and his odd ways. And I intend to win it! But as usual it is hard to fight him since the word unexpected is Joker personified.

The chance to roam around freely is not something I have done very much so far but I am looking forward to explore the area.
With the latest Batgadgets it should be a lot of cool areas to explore. Now I am waiting, hoping that I get to drive the Batmobile. Will I?
Future will tell. But I won't tell though. I don't want to spoil anything.

I will however stream most of my visits to the world of Batman. You can find me at Twitch Here!

Skype is down

Skype is down!

I mean. Wow! It could actually happen. Skype is officially not working! How are people supposed to communicate?!
It shows how comfortable we are with the ways we usually communicate. And how big Skype has become over the last couple of years. Since it has a chatsystem as well as the calls people have not been using other programs. Because Skype had all their needs taken care of.

My first thought were actually. What do I do?
WHAT DO I DO NOW?! Then after a few seconds I laughed at myself. Seriously, ONE program goes down and that is the first reaction. Maybe it is time to start use some other programs for communication.

Another good example is when the Internet is not working. But then you have your phone with Internet. So you are not really away from the Internet, unless you would like to of course.

Hopefully Skype will be back up soon and life can go on normally. If this becomes a trend, there are a lot of software developers out there ready to go all out on stealing users from Skype.

Actually Skype is back up now again, lets hope we can use it without any problems during the evening!

Mr Olympia thoughts while watching

Watching Mr Olympia

The time has come! Mr Olympia is finally here!

Just saw some really nice poses showing some big backs. I have a soft spot for the big V-shape. It is easy to motivate myself to do those exercises at the gym!

When watching these competitions as well it is easy to understand the value of working out your entire body. Since you want a symmetric look. If you often work out your chest and shoulders and often skip leg day - you will not look your best.
Wow, the physique these guys have.

Watching all these men in their underwear all pumped up showing off their bodies.

To some people that is just on the limit of hetero. I'd say they just don't understand what is happening or are just jealous of people actually going for their dreams. And their dreams are big, literally.

I believe that it is a lot more accepted today though. More often than before you can hear random people talk about body building. And maybe some of these new classes have changed that.
Not everyone has to be freakishly huge to compete in these competitions. There are things like Mens physique and Womens physique. I mean for god sake, they even made something called a bikini division. That means that the body building scene is going more towards main stream. And like we talk about on the podcast, normal people are more intrested in gym exercises nowadays.
Hopefully the body building scene can continue to grow in the years to come.

When you eat your high proteine meals at work, people don't tend to think of you as an alien. A few years ago people had never heard about quark (curd cheese) for example. All of a sudden there are a lot of people eating it. They sell it in like 15 different flavours as well.

Steam sale on Batman!

Batman sale!

This weekend there is a sale on Batman games on Steam. I picked up three of them! I figured that I will play the latest one at some point and before I do that I want to have the full story behind it. And I will get that by playing these previous games.

"Are these good games?" I asked.
"They are fucking epic" people answered.
"Is it something I will enjoy?" I asked.
"Yes! Perfect!" They replied.

So I will definitely give these games a try. I have only seen the starting sequence more or less and been in a few battles so far. But I have to say. I am loving it. The story so far show a lot of promise. And guys, it is Batman!

The only negative is that I am trying to play it on my laptop which means that the graphics are not what they would be if I played on my "real" computer. But that negative is just me who don't play it on a proper machine. So that really has nothing to do with the game, whether it is good or not.
But the Xbox controller works perfectly and that is a big plus when playing these games. I can just sit back and relax with the controller. I don't have to sit straight up with a keyboard and mouse.

So if you have not already played through all Batman games. Here is your chance to get them for a discount! Am I in some way trying to make you buy games?
Nah. I am just a fellow gamer who always is looking for a good game at a good price. And when I do find them, I just want to make you guys aware of the opportunity.

DreamHack goes to London

DreamHack London

DreamHack is growing in popularity. Not weird at all. The scene of eSports is growing and DreamHack is a big stage for eSports teams to show off their skills.

On one hand there is this big LAN where people bring their own computers to play games and just hang out with thousands of other gamers. I think it is more of a spectacle nowadays though with the big pro scene.
There is tournaments where the big teams battle it out. And there are also events where you can challenge the pro players. I remember going 1on1 against some big Counter Strike player. After standing in line, waiting for my turn to test my luck. If I remember correctly it was like 5 rounds on some aim map. If I were to win I would get some T-shirt or whatever.
I did not win more than 1 round I believe. But it was really cool to be able to do that, play against the big names.

When I visited DreamHack there were all these cool booths with company wanting to show their equipment. All kinds of fast food and all the beverages a gamer could ever desire.

A big part of it was in fact just walking around, checking out all the insane setups people brought. They had spent thousands of dollars on their computers. Just ridiculous lighting, transparent parts of the chassi that made it all look like a disco.

I hope that the people of Britain enjoys having DreamHack in London and that it is the beginning of an annual tradition.

Divided attention

Feed on Twitter divided - DreamHack & Olympia

Got me laughing a bit earlier when I realized how my feed on Twitter is divided between these events. There are some difference! But I like it. To be honest, one of them does not exclude the other.
I am definitely not saying that Freakazoid would be able to compete in Mr Olympia. Or that the extreme body mass of a body builder would be ideal for gaming.
But like I constantly say, if you do want to grow muscle mass you need to rest a lot. And when you sit in front of your computer, you are resting.
However, losing sleep would not be beneficial.

So DreamHack is in London. Great for them!

And Mr Olympia is about to start! Lets see some muscles!

Is H1Z1 broken?

Is H1Z1 broken?

The past few times I have tried to play H1Z1 I have not been able to. Two nights ago I think it was for example. I tried to join a Battle Royale with a friend.
We entered this starting ground. But instead of the server filling up it was drained of people. The match never got close to start, Several attempts were made but no Battle Royale for me that evening.

It is not the first time. It is just an example of my luck with the servers lately. I am not trying to play every day, which means I can't say for sure there are always problems. The time before that was perhaps a week ago.
I can see on Twitter that there has been a lot of tweets about updates etc. Will they be able to keep the servers up for longer periods of time or will it be a period of problem now?

I want to slaughter people in H1Z1! Please Daybreak!

When I started to play the game I was surprised how well a lot of the Battle Royale mode was working. Then I started to see through the fancy surface.

At first I was just excited to play this mode. But now I see all the people getting banned late into the games, got to suck being killed by a cheater when there are prizes involved! Happened a few times that I all of a sudden just died when there should have been no chance in hell that anyone knew where I was. Closed room without a window to see me through.

I don't remember from where but I heard that wallhack was one cheat available in this game. Where is the anticheat system?! They should have plenty of funds after all those sold copies already.
And the problems with connectivity felt like it was just a one time thing when it occurred. Now though, it feels like it is more often. But maybe I am really unlucky.

Zero Punctuation Army of TWO

Zero Punctuation Army of TWO

Wrote about Army of TWO before. Here is a fun video regarding it from Zero Punctuation. A series of videos on Youtube that I really enjoy. Just check out a game that you played a lot and you will enjoy his video about it.

Many of these videos are simply brilliant. He manages to capture some stuff in the game and make fun comments about it. And the DayZ one made me laugh so hard every time I watched it. If you have played the games you will understand the humor, otherwise I don't think you will think it is as funny.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

It was free on Steam. Great game and it just got handed to me for free! I remember back when it came I had friends playing that shit a lot. I tried it for a few minutes as well then. For some reason I did not pick it up back then. But now fate has given me a second chance!

I haven't come very far. Just played it for a short session testing the game out. I was a bit bothered by the fact that I could not use my controller for it. I hate to play with a controller and not having the "inverted Y-axis crosshair". It just can't be done. All the years after playing that way I simply won't change.
Hopefully I have missed it in the options menu someplace and I can find it next time I intend to play.

So how was the game?
I really enjoyed the graphics. Reminded me a lot of Play Station 2 and Resident Evil. That made me happy. I like that shit! I do not want to spoil the game for anyone so don't worry. I won't say anything about what happends.

I will stream it when I have the opportunity and so far there has not been anything very entertaining but later on I bet there will be some great moments! There are saved streams on Twitch in case you want to catch me but can't find me when the stream is online.

Were able to pick up "Amnesia: A machine for Pigs" as well on sale. The next game that is free is Red Alert 2 Yuri's revenge. A really cool game as well. Played that shit a lot back in the days!

Watching replays - NA LCS Summer Split Finals

NA LCS Summer Split Finals TSM vs CLG

It is not always that I find the time to watch events live or even soon after they are done. Sometimes there are a lot of events going on at the same time which means I have to choose.
For some reason I had not seen the finals in League of Legends between Team SoloMid and Counter Logic Gaming

Watch it Here!

So today I did. I was looking forward to watch it. These two teams are really big within this scene. From the very beginning they were there. And TSM has always come out on top in the tournaments and stuff if I understood it correctly. CLG has never won anything this big before at least, that is a fact!
So a big congratulations to CLG! This was the biggest win for their entire organisation. That explains how huge this win was. And against TSM as well. The rivalry goes way back. And I think it is a good rivalry that pushes the players to train harder and play better. That is positive for us, the fans. Because we love to see big matches and this was a major event. The audience were cheering like crazy!
And the arena, Madison Square Garden. For E-sports? Amazing!

So CLG won three straight games. And I was impressed by their performance. Some specific things I noticed was how powerful Yasou can be. And on the other hand, there were games in this final where Yasou were not as effective. But damn that character can chop stuff into pieces. CLG were very effective with him while they were very good at stopping him when TSM played a comp with Yasou.

Kogmaw was great to see. The memories from way back, playing Kogmaw came back to me. And it is happy memories. Kogmaw really made some nice moves during this final as well. When he has mana he is really powerful.
When talking about AD carries. Jinx handled by DoubleLift was amazing in some sequences. If I remember correctly he got a Pentakill as well. That fight looked like TSM was about to turn around and win but then all of a sudden Penta kill covered the screen and DoubleLift came out victorious!

Victor is another champion that I enjoyed wathing during the finals. There were some impressive moments when Victor caught several enemies in his path dealing tons of damage! Like a certain commentator would have said.

A support that I haven't really played or seen very much of is Braum. I have always been intrigued by the things I have seen. But during this final I got amazed. I have to buy that champion. That shield!

And then we get to the last champion I felt I had to mention. Gragas. I kind of don't like melee AP champions because I think it is a pain to last hit. I feel like I just take all the harass in the forehead.
But the way that ultimate can change the outcome of a team fight. Maybe it is worth a shot at playing him myself sometimes.

Was it ever exciting or did CLG just run TSM over?

Nah it was not always a certain victory. TSM did make some comebacks but CLG managed to turn it around again. It was cool to see the amount of tactics involved. At one point the teams were standing around Baron for 2-3 minutes fighting for position back and forth.
The level that these guys play at is like from another world, from my point of view. Surely players that have a high rank can think that they are close to these guys. I however, just sit back and enjoy watching these guys blow my mind.
The synergy is amazing. The hours they have been playing together, practicing, getting the timings right etc. This is not just some fun and games, playing a stupid video game. This is well deserved attention and congratulations once again!

Finding the time for a short work out

It is possible to find time..

Life can be full with activities. During the day you have to deal with work, family, friends and chores. It is not always the best thing to leave the house for a work out. There might not always be a good time to sell that idea to the Ms (or Mr).

So what to do? I still want to do some work out. Luckily for me I got some dumbbells and kettlebells laying around.
So tonight there was some biceps done in front of the TV. Biceps is such a small muscle that I don't need a ton of weights or different stations to give it a sufficient work out. Sure it is nice to have access to all the equipment at the gym but I don't need it every time.

And if you are like me and you get all energetic from eating something good in front of the TV there is not such a bad idea to use the energy for something like a short work out.

History Time - Super Mario Bros

History Time - Super Mario Bros

It was one of the first video games that I ever played. In my generation, one that we can truthfully call the "Nintendo Generation", this was the big thing in the living rooms.
There were a few machines made for video games before the Nintendo 8-bit came along but I never saw any of those.

It was the Nintendo that ruined me for life. All those hours playing Super Mario. The blip-blop music, the square graphics and the controller with 4 buttons plus directional buttons. When the new consols came. I was bound to buy them just to be able to see how the new graphics were.

Compared to todays games, this might be close to the graphics of Minecraft. Although here it is just 2D and in Minecraft there is an entire world that you can change in 3D.

It was the most amazing experience back then. And that controller with just a button for running fast, one for jumping and that cross to move your character (and Pause and Select). It did not matter at all, because I learned how to time the jumps and stuff perfectly that it felt like I had the same control that I have with these new controllers with like 13 buttons, a directional cross and two sticks.

The amount of games that features Mario and Luigi over the years are plenty. It all started with these games and the big influence it had over us, the "Nintendo Generation". As we grew up, Mario followed us. The games became more challenging as they moved to the new generation of consols. But we, the biggest fans were growing up and needed a bigger challenge as well.
Come to think about it. That really is the case with a lot of stuff that was really child friendly back in the days.
Take Batman for example. Or in the gaming world, Tomb Raider. The people making these games/movies know that the kids nowadays won't bother about these characters. What they do know, is that the people growing up with them will most likely keep purchasing products.
So now Batman is some great action movies and the games are hard and with the age recommendations of 18+.

Enough of being side tracked. Super Mario was full with hidden stuff that always made you popular among your friends if you knew some cool ones.

Not sure about all glitches in this particular video though. But there was a lot of invisible boxes with extra lives, mushrooms that makes you grow and stuff like that.

Luckily for me there are emulators that allows me to visit the world of Super Mario NES once again. And actually controllers that is USB and is an exact copy of the old classic ones.

Signed up for a race! Running 10 km

So I run now, and competitively?!
Hell no!

There is a race though. Or whatever you call it when you run. Perhaps not a race?
I don't normally run. And when I do I run like max 5 km and it is in terrain that is soft for my body. This damn race. It is on tarmac! And 10 km!

So first of all. I have to make sure I can run 10 km and be able to compete with the other people just because I hate losing! So even if I should not keep up I will use the last strength left in my body to just increase the speed. I get to suffer for that the next few days.
The damn demon inside me awakens when there is a competition.

So what the hell is up with this shit?
I can't even say that I was challenged into doing this. I guess my inner competitive self created this. I saw someone entering a race and I just felt that I can do that!

The ramble below regarding risks of injury or the ways my body works are not some medical facts in some way. It is a way for me to describe the way I feel my body respond to certain things. But I do seriously believe that our bodies are exceptional when it comes to adapting into the kind of activities that we do often.

Running is potentially dangerous training for your knees. People that are running very often and are training tecnique and stuff are not the ones that should worry the most.

However I do not run very often. My legs are not used to the constant stress that running means. I know I do not have anywhere near the perfect tecnique. And if you don't have a good running tecnique you risk injury. I read somewhere how it was compared to a car and its engine. If the engine is not working properly it will break down eventually. Our knees are full with so many different parts that can take damage if we stress it the wrong way. Take the meniscus for example. It is one of the things that is trying to provide stability to the knee and stressed too heavily it will sustain damage.

Basically I have been spending the last 12 years going to the gym to exercise my legs. At the gym I do sets of maybe 12 repetitions then I rest. That is no way near the same stress that running for an hour straight is. So point is, running long distances is not something my leg muscles are used to.
The purpose I have when I go for a run is to be able to run a shorter distance fast, a few kilometres is enough.
(And I claim that the bursts I am mentioning below is because my body has gotten used to the gym exercises. Different sets of heavy lifting where I use my energy over a minute or so and then I rest).
When I am out running, I feel that my energy comes in bursts. Especially when I approach a hill. It feels like my legs are telling me that finally they will have to work harder, heavier - like in the gym.
All the nonsense, same speed, legs just moves the same way all the time seems to bore them.
So I get some sort of energy rush. Like today. It was fucking insane. I had been running longer than I have in a looong time. A few years even. I was closing in on like 8 km and I was approaching this hill that people usually complains about.
So I just started to swing my arms to get the help that the people doing 100 metre races do. And the hill felt like nothing. It was easier than running on the level fucking ground. So I reach the top and I felt like I wanted to raise my arms in the air screaming like a fucking boss! If you ask me, that was one of those energy bursts that I used. And since I love going to the gym. Swinging my arms with force, I felt the mental boost that I get from using my arms to lift heavy stuff at the gym. Now it helped me to run faster, I felt strong and nothing could stop me. Definitely not this hill!

Funnily enough. The injury I most often get when I am out running in cold weather is that I strain my shoulders. Since I am running and my legs are all warmed up my legs are fine. But my shoulders are not warm at all, and I keep forgetting that. So when I approach a hill and I get that energy surge and starts to swing away with my arms to sprint up the hill, my cold shoulders starts to hurt.

So I ran almost 10 km today at least. Going slow the first 5 km then started to speed up. My main goal was to allowing my legs to get used to the tarmac. It is less than a month until I run this damn race.

Ranked 5v5 LoL

Playing with friends, why not play ranked

So I do not play a lot of League of Legends nowadays. I want to try so many different games and the time to play enough hours of LoL to be really good at it is just not there.
That does not however remove my need to play with some competitive angle the few hours I actually do play the game. And instead of just playing casual blind pick games I can play ranked 5v5 with my friends.
If some of us are aiming for high ranks in solo que their rank does not get effected by playing these games. And we don't get to play with trolls in our team and since it is a 5 man premade that we face we usually get proper opponents as well.
It is a win-win situation for me. When there is some competitive angle to it, you just don't give up. We were hopelessly behind the other day but grinded it out and in the end game we crushed them completely. Stuff like that can make me happy just thinking about it when I am at work or whatever.

I can't explain why but I enjoy playing Shen for some reason. Guess I like being able to push a lane and then use 'R' to come in to rescue my team. A great way to split push and still being sort of 5v5 in the upcoming fight.
The mobility is great as well. Jumping over walls with 'E'.

However, when I play LoL I usually just pick up whatever role is left when the other players have decided which ones suit them best. I am not pro but I am versatile and can do OK in any position. Having played the game since it was released have its advantages.

Red Dead Redemption

So I am playing this game again.

I will just assume it was about Metal Gear Solid I read what made me play Red Dead Redemption. I read a review and it said something like "Best horse physics since Red Dead Redemption"

So I just felt the urge to ride around in the open world. Maybe I can be arsed to finish the game this time or at least come close to finish it.
There was always new games calling my name from the shelf. And games like this and Grand Theft Auto has not been the sort of games that I have finished.
When it comes to GTA I think it was the controls that bummed me out. A game where you are supposed to do so much. The controls were good when driving around. But I felt that the shooting part of the game was not how I liked it to be.

Anyway. I started to play Red Dead Redemption again. Started from scratch. Which meant I had to hunt fucking rabbits again to learn how to ride etc. I got surprised about how nice the controls were. Like GTA, I remember struggling with the controls in this game.

So now I have bought myself a room at the saloon in town. I am focusing on the quests mostly to make the story go forward. But to get some time on the horse back I am riding between most places instead of using the map to quick travel.

I keep having a hard time spotting which characters are the bad guys when there are random shootings though. Which unfortunately means death to innocent people. I shoot first, ask questions later.
I keep getting surprised at the animations when I play. Last night I used my rifle and a bandit came up really close. Then my character kneeled down, firing the rifle upwards. Blowing his head off like people commit suicide. The sequense was not long and movie like. It was nicely timed which made the rest of the shootout run smoothly while I still got the "wow feeling".
This is no new game. Which means that I play it with a feeling of nostalgia. It is not THAT old like Super Mario from 1990's etc but still. It brings forth memories from a few years back. And I can just relax and enjoy the enviroments.

League of Legend players blackmail teammates

LoL players blackmailing other players

Apparently there are some really crazy shit happening in the world of gaming. According to Kotaku there are a lot of cases of blackmailing against other players in League of Legends. The thing is that in certain countries the law is tough on defamation. It can give as much as three years in prison or 20 000 US Dollars in fines.

And we all know that when someone is not performing in the world of gaming some tough comments can be made. In these situations though, some people has put that into system - to make big money.
To make the comments personal these players are telling the other players their name and additional information about themselves. Then they intentionally play bad hoping that their teammates will bash them in chat.
And I guess that it becomes more personal since they wrote their names and some additional information earlier.

During the game these players have screenshotted the chat and afterwards they take these images to the police. Via IP-adresses the police tracks the "bullies" down and the investigation moves on. Now, the money making part comes in. Instead of trying to send them to jail. The player who reported the "crime" suggests that they can settle this without going any further and dropping the charges. For a fee, and it is usually about 300 - 2000 USD. Since most offenders is just kids/teens their parents wants to pay to keep their kids from further trouble.

No wonder that the chats are not as toxic in Asia as it can be in Europe for example. It is not like the police in Europe will track down someone for using caps lock to bash another player in a game such as League of Legends. It is not something I have ever heard of anyways. That is why this news seem so outlandish.

Out of around 8500 cases half of them were regarding League of Legends. To get to the bottom of this problem they are working on finding the ones filing a lot of charges. If they are known for filing complaints they will just be turned down. I don't know if they have gotten far with this but hopefully they can spot these trolls and deny them any profit.

If the accuser threatens the accused or ask for unrealistic amount of money for settlement they can be arrested themselves if I understood it correctly.

This news came from Kotaku originally and I also read about it on a swedish site called FZ.se. It sounded so crazy that at first I did not believe the headlines but since I wanted to check out if it was actually correct, I read the source where fz.se got their information (which was Kotaku).

How to behave at the gym

How to behave at the gym

You are not some 130kg monster lifting huge weights. Don't throw the 10kg dumbbells on the floor like you just could not hold onto them for another second! Put them down nicely. You will just look like a big dumbass throwing gym equipment around for no reason. You might even brake the dumbbells by doing that. Honestly, a lot of people seem to use energy to throw them harder into the ground than if they would just drop them.

If you are done using a machine/a station. Remove the weights and put them where they belong. That way people can see that you are done with it. Plus not everyone wants to use the same weights as you did. And your mother does not work here and clean everything up for you!

If you really like to use several machines/stations at once and jumping between them. Do it when the gym is NOT full of people waiting to use those stations.

If you do not know how to use a certain maching or station. Please ask someone to show you. When you are waiting for a certain station it is quite frustrating to see someone using it completely wrong! Another example, if you want a bench to do situps on. Don't use the ONE and fucking ONLY benchpress in the entire gym!

Don't stand around a station for half an hour talking about your weekend. Perform the damn work out, then leave the station to people who needs it for their work out routine!

Just be nice and polite and people will reward you by being polite in return. There is nothing wrong with being new and not fully understanding everything. Just ask, most people won't bite.
