Future is bright for Nintendo

Future for Nintendo

Tatsumi Kimishima, a Nintendo president, made a big interview recently where he spoke about the future of the company. It is a subject that has been target of much speculation.
Their competition, Sony and Microsoft, have been owning the console scene for a few years now.
At first Nintendo released the Nintendo Wii and it was not that bad of a release. It was cheaper than the competition, it had something unique at the time and it was still the thing parents were most likely to purchase to their kids.
The Wii Sports was a big hit. I can remember playing that golf game to the point where I could not fail any shot basically - and I did not even own the console.

After that though, the Wii-U came out and my personal opinion is that it was never really noticed by the big masses. The name is too similar, how would people know it was a new console?
So the company has been really weak compared to the competition in XBOX and PS4.

The new console, known as the NX, will be something new. The fact that they are working together with a mobile game developer, DeNA, have led to a lot of speculation about it being handheld in some ways.
I have heard somewhere that it might be a standard console. But with a controller that can be used as a handheld game on its own. And in the past, the handheld market has been the market  that Nintendo has dominated.

He has set a high goal for the company. By doing certain small changes he is looking to make last years profit times four.
One of the things mentioned is to get big on the mobile market.
