Arsenal vs. Manchester United ruined my weekend

Weekend ruined...

So I was prepared for a really nice Premier League Sunday this weekend. Burgers and fries in front of the TV, loads of Pepsi and Arsenal - Manchester United.

And what a great feeling it was! The atmosphere was great. Last season when these two teams met on Emirates Stadium ManUtd walked away with the victory. I remember that game fondly since I happened to be around a big Arsenal supporter at the time. Manchester United were on top of the league table as well. This was going to be a fantastic day! It felt great! For like 5 fucking minutes!

Then Arsenal decided to score. Alexis runs past the real chance of a goal but since he used to play for Barcelona his tecnique is ridiculous and he used his heel to kick the ball into the net.
Then they scored again! For some reason Özil is on fire tonight. Showing his true potential. There are quite often that I hear people giving him shit for not bringing his A-game. But he had to choose this match to show everyone what a great player he can be! The assist came from Theo Walcott, a player I remember fondly when he just came forth as a big talent. Like I wrote in another post, these super quick players seem to get injured a lot. And he is one of these people that has been suffering a lot from injuries. So I will be the bigger man here and be happy to see him return and still be this good.

And then when I figured we were going to chase 2-1 they scored again! And it is some poor defending in this situation. But like always, looking back on things you could have done things different. If Darmain would have tackled him we would probably have said it was a idiotic thing to do since there were never any danger with all those ManUtd players around Alexis. but he got through, ball bouncing like in a fucking pinball machine and then he struck. Wow. 3-0 and good night. At this point I was hoping that this was not going to be a record loss when the referee signals for 90 minutes.

Some would say that is enough. It can't get any worse. Those minutes when they scored goal after goal.

Really? Believe me it can.

To finish this your-day-is-ruined-sucker-moment, I get puked upon!

I have one comment from this game though. People have been giving Rooney a lot of shit lately for not performing like he usually do. When we were 3-0 down and perhaps 35 minutes had passed on the referees clock he tried to fire up his teammates. He was running around like a fucking belgian blue chasing the ball.
Like a dog chasing a car, at first sight. But he did manage to win the ball. He started attacks and when ManUtd lost possession, he went into the bull mode again and won it back.
That is Rooney to me. He is more important as a leader nowadays. To show his teammates that it is possible to play against these guys. Those moments it looked as if he could do whatever he wanted. Nothing could stop him.

In the earlier years of his career he did not show off beautiful tecnique very often. If a defender were closing in on him, he would just go shoulder to shoulder and use his power. There were times when this aggressive powerstyle got him into trouble. But now. I believe it was last season when there were some really heated discussions and I believe it was Januzaj that almost got sent off for arguing and Rooney was the one that really put his foot down and stopped him from further problems.
In the early days, Rooney was the one getting into these situations. Now he is helping his younger teammates instead.

So no matter what the statistics say regarding Rooney at the moment. He is important to Manchester United. I was thinking about it the other day and when Sir Alex bought him at the age of 18, he knew what he was doing.
Sir Alex made sure he had players that hated losing. And even though he had a temper that got him into trouble, he knew that Rooney would never accept defeat
