Microsoft buys the Havoc technology

Microsoft purchases the Havoc

So this might be huge. Microsoft have bought the Havoc technology from Intel. This technology have been used in over 600 different games over the years.
Basically it helps objects behave properly in video games. The Last Of Us, Resident Evil 5 and Skyrim are examples of titles using it.

Will this be a major factor in the so called "war" against Play Station 4? During the podcast we have mentioned a few times the big advantage Microsoft already have with Windows 10. Since they own the computer systems most people are using they can make the Xbox super compatible with it, while other companies will struggle.

Microsoft comments the purchase in a press release:

"We will continue to work with developers to create great gaming experiences, and continue to license Havok's development tools to partners. Havok is a fantastic addition to Microsoft's existing tools and platform components for developers. And we will continue to innovate for the benefit of development partners. Part of this innovation will include building the most complete cloud service, which we've just started to show through games like Crackdown 3."
